When is my turf cut?

Our turf is cut fresh to order on the day of your delivery. (Deliveries to Cornwall & North Devon may be cut the day before delivery)

What vehicle sizes do you have?

We have a variety of delivery vehicles including an 18 tonne lorry with a hiab/crane to unload pallets of turf and dumpy bags of topsoil. We also have a 7.5 ton lorry with a hiab/crane and we run a fleet of Transit size delivery vehicles for small home deliveries. We have access to 6 wheel tippers for bulk soil and large curtain sided lorries for bulk deliveries. See more info on our Delivery Page.

When do you deliver?

We deliver locally from Monday to Friday, 7.30am – 5.30pm.

Do you deliver on Saturdays?

We occasionally deliver large orders on Saturdays by request.

Do you have a minum order?

Yes, on our transit there is a minimum order of £120.00, and on our lorries we have a minimum order of £132.00. Our minimum order for collection is £39.60

What units do you cut in?

We cut in square metres. 1 Roll of turf = 1 square meter.

How thick are the turf rolls?

The soil behind the turf is roughly 10-12 mm thick, we cut to the TGA recommended standard.

How is my Turf and Soil delivered?

We deliver the turf to the kerbside of the address, Using a hiab crane on our lorries. On our transits, the turf will be manually offloaded from the side of the vehicle and placed to the closest suitable area.

Can Turf/Bulk bags of soil be delivered over walls or fencing?

Yes. Any orders which are delivered on our crane lorry can be hoisted over objects providing the access allows for it. With good access, our crane can reach 3 meters or 10 feet of the side of the lorry please specify if the crane is needed. (Check for cables above your fence/wall before ordering) click here to check if you have suitable access.

Do South Devon Turf lay turf?

Until 2010, turf laying was a significant part of our business but since then we have reduced & now stopped our laying services. It is easy to lay yourself or we can recommend a selection of landscapers in your area. Call us for landscapers in your area 01364 649090.

Can you give any advice on laying turf?

Laying turf is easy to do yourself if you follow some basic steps. simply go to our laying page for further info, or alternatively just give us a call, we are always happy to help!

Are the prices shown for your products inclusive of V.A.T?

Yes, all prices on the order form are inclusive of VAT. 

Will you contact me to confirm my online order?

Yes. Once we have received your order will call you to arrange a suitable delivery.

How do I pay for my turf/soil?

You can pay by Debit/Credit card over the phone or by Bank transfer.  All orders must be paid in full either before or on delivery.

How heavy are the turf rolls?

The weight of a each roll of turf depends on the weather conditions. They can vary from 15 KG in the spring to around 20 KG in the winter.
